Bath does not have that many Chinese restaurants to choose from. The ones below are pretty good though:

peking restaurant, 1-2 New Street, Kingsmead Square BA1 2AFhttp://www.pekingrestaurantbath.co.uk/home
The oldest restaurant in Bath apparently. Nice location, and nice food. About 15 minutes' walk from our house. |
hoi faan, 41-42 St James' Parade, BA1 iUQ
www.hoifaan.com
Unfortunately the website does not seem to include a menu. They do nice dim sum, and apparently the food is Cantonese (I do not know the various types of Chinese food - it's a big country!) |
hon fusion, 25 claverton street, BA2 4ld
www.honfusion.com
This is about 2 minutes' walk from our house. They advertise themselves as specialists in clay pot dishes. |
hong kong bistro, 33 southgate street, ba1 1tp
This is about a 10 minute walk from our house. Unfortunately they do not have a web site.
I have a friend from Hong Kong who says this food is just like home - which sort of surprises me, as I've been a bit ... tentative about Chinese food billed as "authentic" in the past, whereas this stuff seems entirely within the normal range of the Western palate. But she says this is just the sort of street food you get in Hong Kong (unlike the stuff that Karl Pilkington was picking up in his travels I guess...) It's one of my favourite take-aways. We often get the crispy duck, salt and pepper tofu, and Singaporean fried noodles :) - but you can have a sit down meal as well. |
